Newborns Need Hearing Screening 1st month of lige.

 6 newborns out of 1000 are hard of hearing, and are not diagnosed till 2 years of age. It is mandatory to get a hearing screening test done for your baby before you bring your newborn home from the hospital. If the baby has not been screened at birth, the hearing test should be done anytime within the first month of life. Screening is done by a test called OAE (Otoacoustic Emissions). It is a rapid, inexpensive and pain-free test that can be done at your bedside.
